The World Junior Chess Championship consists of 2 age group tournaments (Boys/Open U20 and Girls U20) for players born on the year 1992 and later. The open section consists of 130 players, of which 13 GMs, 33 IMs, and 71 titled players. The girls section consists of 66 players, of which 7 WGMS, 1 IM, and a total of 32 titled players.
